Problem
“Thanks for your help, the new fans are working fine. I have another problem. The AC is leaking water. I am not sure if this problem is related to the newly installed fans, I have not used the AC for the entire winter, and started using it only after the fans were installed. The water collects at the drain tray, and I have to empty it once an hour or so. Otherwise the tray overflows, and the water gets on a floor.”
Diagnosis | Solution
Ran a new copper line for the condensation pump to fix the leaking problem. We determined that the problem was a clogged condensate drain line (it’s a pvc pipe that goes from inside to outside the house). That happens a lot down here. The remedy is to have it blown or vacuumed out. Then 1 cup of white vinegar added to the drain line per month keep it from building up algae and blocking the line.
